Day three!

Thirty-one days of fabulous fall update. Today it’s the mantel reveal, hopefully it will be a crowd pleaser. If you’re lucky enough to have one, the fireplace mantel is the natural focal point of your floor plan. This years inspiration came from a garage-sale’s roll of moss; cost $1.00! The blackbirds are from the past (my collection). Wasn’t sure if they would make the cut, but couldn’t keep them in the box, they demanded my attention. Gourds and pumpkins were purchased with coupons from a big-box store, along with the orange glass bulbs. The rest was in “inventory” (normally purchased post-holiday). How’s your mantel? Decorated yet? Do you switch it up, or stay with a tried and true theme? Now that the mantel is dressed, Mr. Truffle and I are about to share a glass of wine. Hope you are having just as much fun.

Good evening!

Mrs. Truffle will be your tour guide...

Make your home holiday ready with a little imagination.

The branches were FREE!

Do you like the moss?

Texture gives the room personality.

More texture.

I draped the moss on the branches.

Have you had a chance to show off your mantle?

Happy New Year!

Happy 2011 to each & every one of you!

Another holiday season has come and gone. This one was truly special for me. Mr. Truffle and I made some nice memories to savor. I hosted a gathering that was fun both in preparing and attending. New Years Eve was glam & glitz and accompanied by heels and lipstick (neither spent the entire night on)! Dinner was served throughout the evening. Several courses over several hours. When the ball dropped, I found myself in cozy PJ’s and nestled in for the evening. What was your style for the holidays? Here is s peek of mine. I loved 2010; now let’s see what 2011 brings. I really enjoy all things decorating. If you would like to chat about it, let me know. It’s always good to share ideas (note that my New Years Eve tablecloth is actually my winter scarf!). I’m saving my new years resolutions for another post, so stay tuned.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas - long time coming, but finally here!

We’re finally done with our preparations and are relaxing; anticipating the turkey in the oven. The table is set, wine uncorked and fireplace lit.

Getting ready for the season was enjoyable. I really hate seeing it come to a close. Hopefully you were able to use one of my ideas in your decorating style. Before you know it I will be packing it up for the next season, but first, a last peek at Christmas 2010.

I just started blogging this past spring. I still have much to learn and hope to meet many more of you fabulous people. Thank you for a wonderful year. I appreciate your comments.

Season’s greeting hope to see you next year,

Shannon
