I waited till Wednesday for my little venture into the country. It coincides with my favorite Wednesday of the month; I get to go scrapping in Manchester Michigan once a month, on the last Wednesday! Yeah!

As usual, I was able to relax in a wonderful atmosphere of creativity with like-minded women, but….it was a most beautiful Michigan summer’s day and the pool was open!

(Can you believe that Scrapping and Pool-side leisure pair so well!)

What draws me to the “Inn” is the pampering and quality of service provided. Spa-like, but worth every calorie indulged. Thanks Amy & Sandy!

What is most unusual, within an hour, I can go from the hustle of Detroit to another time and another era. Manchester is really a beautiful place to visit. Join me………

Motor City Monday #8:

Dark, gloomy & lots of rain! My Motor City Monday is a bit different today. This is a stay-in kinda day. But, what will I share with my people? A special letter to one of my favorite fans, Ms. Mona. This is a tribute to you.



Dear Mona: Blogging has been more then writing posts; I’ve met some great friends along the way. I can always count on you for comments and positive suggestions. You’ve contributed to the look of my site more then you realize. Then I found you were a fellow Lilly-lover and I realized we must be sisters. I appreciate your thoughtfulness. My only complaint is that we live to far apart to meet for a morning coffee break. (I know, you prefer tea!)

Great Thrift Find

Feeling Thriftaboulous!

Don’t you feel pleased when finding a fabulous deal while thrifting? This was a Craigslist find. Two rod iron chairs for $35. Very sturdy while providing a traditional look for my small patio space. The cushions needed to be updated and I could foresee something nice.

A new staple gun from Home Depot, and I was packing and ready. Of course I wanted the chic new patio sets that all the fine garden centers offer. However, this look fit our budget. Thanks for looking. Let me know what you think!

Brainers Greenhouse Wixom, Michigan.

Brainer’s; Vroom vroom, revving up and speeding into summer.

If you wait to long, you may miss out. I almost did. But luckily, finally I got out for a second trip to fill-in my spring garden.

Though there are closer green houses, I like to visit Brainer’s Greenhouse. This all started years ago when I had them deliver flocked Christmas trees to my home.

The gift house was so cute and charming. It made me wish for a larger patio to decorate.

Sunday Dinner

Italian tonight?

It’s Sunday night and we wanted to have a good meal to start the week off. With the warmer season upon us, we are opening up the patio. While reviewing menu choices, the decision was for pasta and a nice bottle of wine. Have you noticed that as the weather warms, simpler foods, in moderation seem to be perfect.
