Octoberfest

Fabulous fall, and here we are today:

It is already day twenty-one of our October event. Let us look at where we are. We’ve visited a couple of villages, looked at some fun Halloween events, seen some fall decorating hints, and viewed beautiful Michigan fall landscapes. I am hoping you too are having fun with this wonderful season. I’m appreciating your comments and suggestions. Thank you.

We entered Greenfield Village to enjoy the beauty of a 19th century environment on Halloween night. Mr. Ford purchased the residences of the Wright Brothers, Thomas Edison and many writers and inventors of that time and incorporated them in his town.

Please walk with us through this period and have fun with that time and place. Over 800 hand-carved jack-o‘-lanterns lit our way through the night. Our only concern was avoiding the headless horsemen!

October Bunco 2011

Bunco in the pumpkin patch




Finally, the night has come to get together with my neighborhood Bunco group. Yes, the game is fun, and there is always much to talk about while playing. During the game, we were able to plan the upcoming holiday dinner. There was also a discussion of all the new neighbors and requests to join our group. We agreed there was need for a second Bunco group.

 We never lack for conversation! All enjoyed great food and beverages, along with a million laughs. I have awesome neighbors, and always have loved entertaining. Day 7 of 31 days of fall fabulousness. What do you serve up to your little goblins during the fall season? Halloween is an excuse to be silly and have fun. Everyone loves a spooky little treat. You do not have to be a pasty chef to achieve awesome cupcakes. They sell the cutest little embellishment kits everywhere.

Day Six; Scent-sational Fall:




Decorating does cover all the senses. I especially love the fall scents of apple, cinnamon, pumpkin and even burning leaves (remember!).



Today I took a quick trip to Bath and Bodyworks. I found many temptations, but kept to my budget. I’ve transformed the ambiance of the home with a number of nice candles and air fresheners. If you shop the sale, it doesn’t take much to get the home smelling seasonal.



I also reviewed my Halloween boxes from years past. If you keep them labeled, it makes it easy to pick and choose. I’m starting out simply, and adding to it every week to keep it fresh. Take a peek at where I am this week with the front entry.
