Inn At Tilton Place

Motor City Monday #9:

I’m back all. Unfortunate circumstances had me away to Jenson Beach, Florida. We were there for a funeral, but the hostess of the bed & breakfast we stayed at was ever so kind and understanding of our situation.

She knew we were not there to vacation, but to say good-bye to my stepmother who had finally given in to her fight with cancer.

Katie insured that we had all we needed and when family gathered made us feel as if were in our own home.

The Inn-At-Tilton Place is a wonderful establishment; it is over a hundred years old and sits overlooking the inter-costal waterway on the Atlantic side of Florida. I have known of the site since it was a private residence. I was pleasantly surprised that the same family has owned the place since it was built in 1906.

While very private and non-commercial, a two-block walk will take you into Jenson Beach’s main street with an assortment of restaurants and taverns. It was lovely sitting on the balcony and being serenaded by the jazz combo in one of the outside clubs.
